News and Highlights How to Help the Earth! posted by Nikolette Langdon
If you were the Lorax, how would you help the Earth? That is the question students in Mrs. King’s second grade class answered on Friday, April 20, before Earth Day.
The Clarksville Elementary students read the book How to Help the Earth—by the LORAX during class which taught them why it is so important to take care of our Earth.
After reading the book, students gave many examples of what they could do to help the Earth by completing the following sentence, “If I were the LORAX, this is how I would help our Earth…”

Students read their comments aloud to the class, and they also designed their own Earth by using blue and green dots of paint on a white circle.
Four marbles were put into a pizza box, and the children got to shake and swirl the marbles over the dots of paint to make their design on the Earth.

The students’ Earth designs and LORAX writings can be seen in the hallway to allow everyone to read how each child plans to help the Earth!
