News and Highlights New Principal for CMS posted by Nikolette Langdon
Clarksville Middle School will be welcoming a new school year with a new principal.
On Tuesday, June 12, Scott Gardner was approved by the Clarksville Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees to fill the vacancy left by Greg Moe.
Prior to becoming Principal of Clarksville Middle School, Gardner received his Bachelor’s Degree in English Education and Masters of Education from Indiana University Southeast.
He was a teacher for seven years at Charlestown Middle School from 2000-2007.
Gardner became a part of the Clarksville Community Schools’ family in 2007 as Clarksville Middle School’s Assistant Principal for two years and has been Clarksville High School’s Assistant Principal for the last three years.
Superintendent Dr. Kim Knott recognizes Gardner as being an integral part of the administrative team in the Clarksville Community School Corporation for the past five years.
“He is committed to working with staff to find ways to improve student learning,” Knott said. “Most important, he knows our families and students, and he is determined to make Clarksville Middle School a place where all achieve and succeed.”
As the 2012-2013 school year approaches, Gardner says he is looking forward to his new role as principal.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity,” Gardner said. “I look forward to working with a great group of students, parents, faculty and staff.”
