Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year at Clarksville High School! This year is our second year as a TAP school. The system for student and teacher advancement (TAP) was implemented last year with success and we look forward to continuing with TAP and realizing more gains in student achievement. We were pleased we saw an increase of almost 20% of students passing the English 10 ECA from the previous school year with a total of 75% of sophomores meeting standard in 2011-2012. Our increased efforts as a TAP school have helped us in this endeavor and we will proceed with our ongoing focus on English and mathematics achievement.
We are continuing to offer a variety of courses so our students can earn Core 40, Core 40 with Academic Honors and Core 40 with Technical Honors diplomas. As we progress through the year, I would encourage you to discuss with your student his/her academic goals and if your student is on track for his/her desired diploma. If in doubt, please do not hesitate to contact the counseling office to set an appointment with Mrs. Owen to review any questions you may have.
Clarksville High School provides online opportunities for students as well as various routes for dual-credit and AP courses we may not normally be able to offer on campus. The state’s newest mandates will require students to take an online course with next year’s freshman class (Class of 2017). We are embracing current online possibilities to progress toward meeting the state’s legal mandates and our corporation’s mission: “Maximizing each student’s achievement”.
Please remember parents/guardians can view student data via PASS. This parent portal is part of our student management system and it can be accessed via our website. You can view your student’s attendance history, progress report/quarter report information, and current progress in each class. This access will give you up-to-date information on your student’s academic achievement. If you have misplaced your student’s login protocol, you can request a copy in person at the school.
There are many extra-curricular opportunities at CHS. It is our hope that all students take part in some type of club, organization, or athletic sport to help them become well-rounded individuals. Our main focus is academics, but there are other important aspects of life, too. Participating in extra-curricular opportunities gives each individual a chance to become part of a collective group that can focus on something unique to that group. These experiences help raise our sense of community and service and provide enrichment. This also helps strengthen our school community, as well.
Thank you for visiting our website. If you have questions about Clarksville High School, please feel free to call or e-mail. We will be happy to assist you.
Sincerely,

Brian Allred, Ph.D.
